Nowadays you find it everywhere. When you’re shopping or even on the menu’s in restaurants: the term: “rich in protein”. People are starting to understand more and more that proteins are a big part of your daily nutritions. But what it exactly does except for “building muscle?”, is something that a lot of people or not yet aware of.
So, what is protein?
Protein is what builds our bodies. We exist for roughly 12 kg of protein
and our body replaces about 200-300 grams of the protein that is
produced by our body on a daily base, in the liver and your intestines.
Muscle tissue has a big impact on this. Proteins build up the cells in
your body. Our organs can produce their own protein, so we don’t have to
worry about those. It’s when we get our protein our of food, where it
starts getting interesting.
